I heard the dumbest thing in the world on radio today. I listen to am 1200 to catch up on local events to start my day. Host mildride gaddis had some doctor on (social doctor not medical) and he was talking about how this superbowl could be special because of the opportunity for another african american head coach to win a SB?!?
I WAS screaming at the radion YOU DUMB FUG THE 'AFRICAN AMERICAN' COACHING IS ON HIS WAY TO WINNING HIS SECOND SB!!!
Sometimes I wonder where they get these 'authorative idiots from.

elders would like a talk with me
by varian inhi everyone.. i recently had a phone call from an elder of my former cong.
they would like to chat with me, and obviously want to encourage me to come back.. to make a long story short: the last 4 or five years i was a jw in their kh, i was more or less completly ignored.
had in that time no phone calls, visits or any interest how i felt etc.

i strongly believe it is a cult, but i also am respectful of the choice people make to associate themselves within the witness "world.

OTWO-These situations are so tough. You want to be fair in recognizing that your son's grandmother wants to be a part of his life, but she's in a dangerous mind-control cult and doesn't respect many aspects of your life. She will attack beliefs behind your back if she is allowed unsupervised visits with the grandson. She will try to make him believe that birthdays and holidays are evil.
This is so true!
Its sad you have to guard your kids against their grand parents but its true. You will have to de-program them each time they have a visit. I have a friend who has 2 kids and all his family pressures her to come back for the kids they are so worried about the kids (ironically to condemn them to the same hell.)

Dinner With a Pioneer Couple Last Night
by dontplaceliterature inmy wife and i had dinner with a pioneer couple last night that we've been friends with for a long time.
they are both nice people, with the wife having a few dashes of pretentiousness mixed in.. usually when we are together, they always talk about pioneering, which makes some sense as it's the primary focus of thier lives.
however, it has gotten progressively more dominate in conversation over the last couple of years, to the point of being annoying.

Broken Promises: Back in my day pioneers had to get in 90 hours a month. These guys are wusses, lol!
